Who would have expected a day with so much new and innovative information? Well\u2026 we sure did!<\/p>\n

We just concluded the first day and we can\u2019t wait to find out what other big surprises we\u2019ll encounter on the second day of the event. The 9th edition of\u00a0Techsylvania<\/strong>\u00a0takes place between\u00a028\u201329 of June<\/strong>, in a hybrid mode, allowing local and international tech enthusiasts to take part in\u00a0the most exciting tech event in Eastern Europe<\/strong>. First day of 2022\u2019s Techsylvania edition was a blast. After 2 years of virtual-only events, Techsylvania is back with a both in-person and virtual event reuniting founders, CEOs, technical experts and digital innovation professionals from successful tech companies around the world. The 9th edition brought together, on the first day of the event, more than 30 speakers who shared their experiences, innovations and valuable information to thousands of national and international participants.<\/p>\n

On the first day of the event, we had extremely enthusiastic and eager guests for communication and networking. These included Silicon Valley corporations and innovative start-ups in the tech industry. Attendees had the opportunity to follow them on the 2 main stages of the event, participate in\u00a0Workshops<\/strong>\u00a0and address all their curiosities in interactive\u00a0Q&A sessions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The grand opening of the first day started on Center Stage with\u00a0Mark Porter<\/strong>, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of\u00a0MongoDB<\/strong>. He had a structured and clear message about organizational culture and its importance for scaling companies. One of the most interesting aspects presented was about\u00a0how an organization\u2019s culture is made up of the unspoken and unwritten practices and rules which drive how humans and systems act \u2014 and react.<\/em><\/p>\n

Shortly after, another interesting and highly skilled speakers followed on Center Stage, eager to share their knowledge with the participants, in a back to normal context, after 2 years when the pandemic limited such events.\u00a0Margaret Hollendoner (Google)<\/strong>\u00a0live streamed about the Product Development at Fitbit and achieving a healthy way of life with less effort, while\u00a0Aniela Cri\u0219an<\/strong>\u00a0(OLX<\/strong>) introduced us to a Team Driven development mentality. And so much more. She taught us about the mantra of Test-Driven Development and how the team is keeping the operational excellence by continuous learning, testing and setting sustainable, people-centered values.<\/p>\n

Fast forward, after the lunch break,\u00a0Ciprian Zamfirescu<\/strong>, Digital Transformation & Innovation Manager at\u00a0Vodafone Romania<\/strong>\u00a0clarified the way technology can revolutionize every industry, including the Telecom. He spoke about systems automation, the internet of things, cloud analytics for automated network planning and optimization, 5G, drones and other aspects that can be integrated in the process of migration to complete inter connectivity.<\/p>\n

Another highly awaited speaker on the center stage was\u00a0Daniel Myers<\/strong>, Senior Developer Relations Manager at\u00a0Snowflake<\/strong>\u00a0inc. What have we learned from his speech? That data application or data driven-applications provide the rich, speedy insights, automation and integration that data-driven businesses are using to gain competitive advantages. And we really need a solid competitive advantage to win the clients hearts and money.<\/p>\n

And if\u00a0\u201dstudying behavior more than money\u201d<\/em>\u00a0sounds like something you would do, it is clear that you already paid attention to\u00a0Josh Little<\/strong>\u00a0(Volley<\/strong>) speech. In today\u2019s market, it is all about demand and supply, so testing and understanding your target audience becomes such valuable assets. His speech,\u00a0Stuck like glue by building products that users can\u2019t live without<\/em><\/strong>, was a must for every company, for start-ups to international corporations. We really hope you didn\u2019t miss it.<\/p>\n

After the lunch break,\u00a0Zoltan Vardy<\/strong>\u00a0shared with us his secrets of\u00a0The Launch Code<\/strong>, his 9-step business development framework that helps B2B tech startups boost their revenues by adapting corporate planning, sales, and management techniques to a startup environment.<\/p>\n

One of the awaited subjects of the first day was about the crypto bear market, or\u00a0How to survive crypto winter: Founding, Funding and Building Web3 companies that last<\/em>.\u00a0Wui Ngiap Foo & Henry Foo<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0Ethlas<\/strong>\u00a0matched the expectations of our participants and taught us what investing in game platforms & cryptocurrency really means, how does its volatility translate on an individual level and its impact on platforms or companies. Nevertheless, they got a little deeper on the subject, discussing the future we are heading towards and what percentage of the market reaction can be anticipated.<\/p>\n

Mansoor Ahmed-Rengers<\/strong>, co-founder and CEO at\u00a0OpenOrigins<\/strong>\u00a0spoke about authenticity in the age of disinformation, followed on center stage by\u00a0Carlo Driussi<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Executive Vice President & COO\u00a0Unicredit Bank<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 responsible for global banking services division, with a hot topic about the culture of innovation.<\/p>\n

Another challenging talk on the Center Stage was the conference session with\u00a0Razvan Roman<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0TwoTap<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Zoltan Vardy<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0The Launch Code<\/strong>. They debated about\u00a0A Founders Journey: Europe to the US, startup to exit, entrepreneur to investor<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and all the participants could express their curiosities about this topic in the\u00a0Q&A session<\/strong>.\u00a0Adrian Pica<\/strong>, the product management leader from\u00a0Bolt<\/strong>\u00a0was virtually with us and he shared amazing insights about the economics of digital marketplaces.<\/p>\n

Our final speakers on the Center Stage gave us very insightful information on various topics. First of all,\u00a0Zach Coelius<\/strong>, the founder of entrepreneurial early stage capital for technology startups \u2014\u00a0Coelius Capital<\/strong>\u00a0from whom we learned a new business tactic:\u00a0choose something you are good at and you can describe it sincerely & clearly within a single sentence<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em>\u00a0After 6 long years of constantly inviting him to join us,\u00a0Stan Chudnovsky<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0NFX<\/strong>\u00a0has honored us with his presence on Techsylvania\u2019s stage and made every second count with his valuable lessons on how to get\u00a0from investing in early teams to running the large organizations at Meta<\/strong>, the importance of feedback, coherent message and making sure you get your entire team on the same page.\u00a0A big dream is what gets you on in uncertain times like these. And this type of attitude is contagious. You need to match up big ambitions in order to be successful \u2014 but first, sit down and figure out what you want to achieve with your ambition.<\/em><\/p>\n

Last, but not least,\u00a0Alina Vandenberghe<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 Co-founder & Co-CEO\u00a0Chili Piper<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 the latest Romanian unicorn company in the United States, gave us billion dollars advice on how to build a durable strategy around a completely remote company idea, measure success and where to go after achieving everything, while still managing to deliver it all in a modest manner.<\/p>\n

That was all. But just for the Center Stage. On the Impact Stage, the speakers were also delivering great knowledge, word by word. With the stage moderated by\u00a0Irina Obushtarova<\/strong>\u00a0(the Recursive),\u00a0Aaron Lee & Dexter Ligot-Gordon (Swarm)<\/strong>\u00a0broke the ice with insightful information about how CTOs and CEOs should collaborate in early stage startups. Going further,\u00a0Andrei Dudoiu<\/strong>, CEO\u00a0Seedblink<\/strong>\u00a0shared tips & tricks about collaborative work of european investors and tech startups. The next speaker on the Impact Stage was\u00a0Oana Florescu<\/strong>\u00a0from Youtube who had a great talk about fast-growing XFN teams and scaling tech products, remaining also very passionate about her work in this industry. And this really shows in everything we do, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n

When it comes to keeping an eye open for context and seeking new perspectives\u00a0Deniz Tuncalp<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0Istanbul Technical University<\/strong>\u00a0gave us the best advice. We discussed cultural changes and how they could help us to develop the next startup triangle, following his path. Shortly after,\u00a0Tomer Dean<\/strong>, representing\u00a0Audiolabs<\/strong>, taught us a very valuable lesson:\u00a0don\u2019t fall in love with your idea and start the r&d before validating the product with real users<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em>Do you agree with him? We sure do.<\/p>\n

Our final guest on the Impact Stage was\u00a0FIX Cluj\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 the first innovation fund dedicated to financing the bold entrepreneurial initiatives of young creative minds. They had to make a tough decision: who will be the next 4 winners of Final Demo Day? After 3 hours of analyzing pitches and deliberating, FIX Cluj decided:\u00a0Badea Neao\u0219, Magic Team, OHMYDOG and Manuscrito<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0deserve the funds for developing their businesses.\u00a0Such a beautiful way to end a day!<\/strong>\u00a0And for the participants who didn\u2019t get the prizes, they sure got some extremely valuable information from our speakers \u2014 and maybe some new wonderful connections to get their projects going further.<\/p>\n

The Q&A stage and the technical workshop stage got us a deeper understanding of the digital world of tomorrow, through applicable processes and various contexts, focused on all the hottest topics there are.\u00a0Diego Freniche Brito & Jorge Ortiz Fuentes (MongoDB)<\/strong>\u00a0taught us how to Write an Android App with Sync from Scratch,\u00a0Aaron Lee & Dexter Ligot-Gordon (Swarm)<\/strong>\u00a0guided us on some Creative Tension: How Should CTOs and CEOs Collaborate in Early Stage Startups?\u00a0Mihaela Lungu from About You<\/strong>\u00a0shed some light on how to Craft authentic e-commerce shops:\u00a0\u201cBrands can personalize their shops, including language, Add to cart and when we implement new features their shops won\u2019t crash.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0In the end,\u00a0Flaviu Samarghitan & Mathias Maciossek (Neurolabs)<\/strong>\u00a0challenged the visual wizards out there with automate visual tasks without training any algorithms tips & tricks.<\/p>\n
